The Thorntons in NYC
I was back East a couple weeks ago to shoot a wedding in Boston and ended up taking on a couple shoots while I was visiting NYC. Sarah Thornton is one of my best friend’s sisters and I actually stayed with her, her husband Wes and their beautiful baby boy, Brayden for a few days while I was out there. Sarah and Wes were over the top hospitable, so I thought I’d try to pay them back with a fun little family shoot at the South Street Sea Port in NYC. It was great to be able to photograph a family and work in a totally new place–South street seaport is screaming with backgrounds and fun ideas for unconventional family portraits!

These are incredible shots! You always manage to capture the joy in people… their thoughts and feelings in fabulously candid images. I love the colors in this shoot- and that baby is gorgeous! I am not a biased auntie!

Julie, these photos are amazing! I get so happy every time I look at them. The colors are incredible and the backgrounds are so fantastic that I can’t stop looking at them (the boat in the background is jaw-dropping…)! We had so much fun doing the shoot with you; you are truly an amazing photographer! I am also so grateful to have some family pictures of us in NYC, just in case we have to move someday. What wonderful memories…thanks for everything.
