Mark Twain once wrote:  “Grief can take care of itself,  but to get the full value of joy you must have somebody to divide it with.”  I can’t think of a better couple to portray this…

Ali and Adam are a couple full of joy—pure joy and they are about the cutest couple ever.  They are both in law school (taking all the same classes, mind you),  both have legs up to their chins, and even have their own little “peanuts” celebration dance.  It is so clear to me that they love to be together, and the way they “play” warms my heart.  I wouldn’t be surprised if in 60 years, they wear matching sweaters and walk hand in hand through the park daily.  They are that cute!  I love watching and working with them and am looking very forward to their wedding next May…

Do these next three images not scream, fun?!  Ali and Adam have sooo much fun together!

This is an image of Ali and Adam doing their celebration “Peanuts” dance– you know, the one all the kids do in Charles Schultz’s, Peanuts!

Kailee and Jake
August 23 | 2009

I’m particularly fond of this series of images… mostly because photographing 2 teenagers (siblings at that) and getting them to act natural for the camera is not an easy task.  I didn’t know if I’d be able to get anything  authentic with Kaylee and Jake, but I was very happy with the images and felt that I was able to extract their personalities in some of these. …However I have to admit I was cheating a little bit because I have known Kailee and Jake their entire lives!  Actually, my very first photo shoot back in 1996 was of little Jake as a baby.  I worked with their mom, Jodi at a little toy store in Boulder called Grand Rabbits.  Jodi is still one of my dearest friends and  I may actually owe my entire career to her, as she was the one who encouraged me to “go for it”.  She found me clients in her neighborhood and proudly displayed my work all over her home.  Needless to say, it’s such a pleasure to get to continue to photograph these kiddos and to see them grow into adults.

Can you tell that Kailee is an athlete??  Wow!

Kailee and Jake really love each other.  This made the shoot very easy for me, and the fact that they play like little pups!

I can’t believe what a stud Jake has become…  he came into my studio a couple months ago with Jodi, and I didn’t even recognize him.  I just looked right past him, then did a triple take.

i love these!! you definitely got candid moments! love the rolling down the hill, what a great idea. one of my favorites is the one of Kaylee looking down in black and white. their mom must be thrilled with these!

Julie, Great work. Love the color, the spontaneity of the images...

These made me a little weepy - but happy weepy. Maybe because the pic of Jake on the hill on the right hand side of the frame reminds me of a similar pic you took of my Max when he was around 2, and it makes me realize how fast they grow, and how glad I am that you've been able to capture some of these moments in our life!

  • Mom

I can't believe how grown up those two kids have become! and so beautiful!! Do they still call you "Julie Harris" while they're conversing with you? You've done a great job, Jodi! You, too, Darlin'! -Mom

Wow–The 4th of July seems like forever ago, and  while it is always a landmark of the “hump” of summer, my wedding season is still in full swing!  I owe my clients a huge “thank you” for their patience on the blogging process!  Hope it’s worth the wait…

I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to spend this Summer eve’s holiday with Shannon and Monti!  They are extraordinary individuals, who  make an even more extraordinary couple.  Both busy jetters, I haven’t had much time with them, but I had the pleasure of first photographing a very snowy winter engagement shoot with them, and then an amazingly beautiful summer’s wedding on the 4th of July at Lionscrest!   It’s a treat to be in their presence and to have celebrated this union with their friends and family.

Shannon and Monti – I can’t even tell you what an honor it has been!  I am so grateful that you trusted me to document the very true love between you….  Looking forward to your premier at the end of the month! xoxo

Shannon is extremely charismatic!  She seems to make makes every single person she know feel like they are the only one she knows… I love this shot of her walking out of the bridal suite to take some family portraits.  Instead of worrying that her guests might see her, she just beamed and waved.

It’s a rare treat to see a groom tear up with his father before the ceremony.  I’m glad I was there to grab this shot!

Shannon’s Mom’s expression of pride in her daughter is priceless….

…A little boy with a very old soul, I think!

Shannon and Monti had a super fun wedding party!

Monti’s brother gave a tear-jerking toast.  I love these!!

Yeeeeooowww!  Monti looks smokin’ in this shot!
