Ashley and Josh

I can’t gush enough about how much I love photographing families that allow children to be children.  Ashley and Josh were so full of life and spirit, that I think I exhausted them with my energy—I couldn’t stop the shutter!  Their mom finally said that it was time for them to go…I apparently had gotten so lost in Ashley and Josh’s playtime, that I lost track of time.  It was way past their their bedtime, let alone dinner, which they still hadn’t had!

Ashley and Josh are spirited, strong willed children that I would photograph any day of the week.  I love capturing this kind of life!  Thank you Jerry and Julie, for allowing them to play, and for letting me take them late into the evening…. it was a pleasure!

Kara and Bryan

I am completely inspired by the writings and life of Jack Kerouac–thus the opening quote on my website.  Recently a friend of mine sent me this Kero quote and I  tucked it away, knowing there would be a way that I could somehow incorporate it into a post down the line.  Well, Kara and Bryan completely sum up the “people” that Kerouac is writing of in this passage, and I could think of no better way to describe this couple, and incorporate this quote:  ”The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn, like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue centerlight pop and everybody goes “Awww!”

Kara and Bryan are truly spectacular people—the kind of people that you just watch from a distance and only wish you could be as cool as, or the people that you yearn to start a friendship with….   (I actually texted Kara the other day, and asked, “Can we be friends?”) Their wedding was beautifully spiritual, intimate, moving, and full of love and appreciation for their friends, family and of course each other.  Have I ever mentioned that I am so blessed  and lucky to get to work with people like this for a living?  Kara and Bryan go down in history as some of the best….  Congratulations you two!

Alicia and Ryan

There are certain couples that I know, as soon as I see them together, are going to be together forever.  Alicia and Ryan are one of those couples.  They walked in to my studio a year ago holding hands, giggling and having fun.  They couldn’t keep their hands off each other the entire consult—Alicia was always rubbing Ryan’s back, or Ryan was caressing Alicia’s hand.  They love each other—and not only that, they are smitten with each other!  There was no exception to this on their beautiful wedding day—they didn’t leave each others side, and I could see the joy in their faces when they saw each other  for the first time as Alicia walked down the aisle….  They belong together!  I loved witnessing this love between them–so pure, and so intoxicating….

Alicia is an only child, so it was a very sweet and emotional day for her parents….






I always ask my brides if their groom is going to cry.  Alicia said, “Absoultely not.  Ryan hasn’t cried in 14 years”.  Well, Alicia—looks like he broke the streak at one glance of you!












Alicia and Ryan held their reception at the Hyatt tech center.  It was gorgeous—tons of natural light, great achitecure and a very open feel, unlike most hotel banquet areas.


And the flowers and decor were to die for.  I felt like I was in a midsummer night’s dream…





Doesn’t Alicia’s dad look just like a movie star from the 1940′s?  He has such a handsome, classic look and a strong, masculine presence.


Sweet first dance….


This kiddo takes the cake for the best hair of the day!
