Frequently Asked Questions
How long is a photo session?
1 – 2 hours.
Do you shoot exclusively on location?
Yes. Depending on the shoot, I will come to your home or meet you and your party at a park, open space trail-head, or another location.
What is the cost for a session with you?
I charge a simple flat fee (see Prices) that includes the 1-2hr photo session, the full set of high res digital files, and 4 prints (4×6, 5×7, or 8×10 or 11×14).
I ask for a non-refundable $100 deposit to book your photo shoot. The balance will be due on the day of our session. Venmo, cash or check is preferred.
What should we wear for our shoot?
When people ask me that, I always have the same answer. Let the kids be kids. Let the kids pick out their clothes. There’s probably a story there; grass stains on the shoes from playing outdoors, a tacky dress from the Disney store because she’s a “princess.” The truth is, she won’t be a princess for forever, and one day soon, you’ll miss those little worn out sneakers…
But that advice applies to everyone, child or adult. Everyone should wear what they want. Because it is the story told that’s important here, not the coordinating outfits.
How long until we receive our images?
Usually within 2 weeks, but during the busy season (summer and fall) it may be a little longer.
How many images are in a full set?
You will receive 80 – 100 high resolution digital files from your photo shoot that are color-corrected and print ready.
What can I do with my images after I receive them?
You will be able to use your images to make prints and canvases, order albums, share with family/friends or post on social media.
Do you shoot weddings? Do you offer boudoir photography?
I have retired from shooting weddings but do cover smaller, more intimate events like vow renewals. I also still shoot engagement sessions for fun couples. To learn more about my boudoir photography, please visit my website Julie Harris Boudoir .
