Sara and Jonathan were married earlier this month at  Cielo in Castle Pines.    I have to say, my two favorite things to photograph at a wedding are the bride getting ready and the ceremony.  At Sara and Jonathan’s wedding, I got to photograph both of these things twice!  Sara and Jonathan had a traditional Jewish tish and bedeken ceremony before a good old fashioned American style wedding.  In all honesty, I think I can write a wedding ceremony down to every reading and every song picked for the procession and candle lighting.  I’ve photographed over 300 weddings and some of these ceremonies don’t have a ton of originality and tend to blend together.  Sara and Jonathan’s wedding, on the other hand had 2 ceremonies that were  both incredibly  dramatic and emotional.  It was so refreshing and fun to photograph.  At a traditional Jewish wedding,  the men and women remain in two separate rooms all day, until the men bring the groom in to check out his bride and veil her before the next ceremony. Jonathan’s procession was accompanied by a singing rabbi and a lot of loud, happy clapping men. Before this, Sara waited in a room with a hundred, plus women who offered her kisses and messages of love and encouragement.  All of this was followed  by a veiling and signing of the Ketubah and then another glorious ceremony seeped in beautiful traditions.   To top it all off,  Sara wore two dresses, one of which was her grandmother’s wedding dress.  She rocked it and looked absolutely marvelous!  The entire day was one of celebration and fun and I truly enjoyed documenting every moment of it.    Thank you Sara and Jonathan.  It was such a honor!
