Denver Boudoir
January 26 | 2011

It’s been almost a year since my scandalous “Naked in Denver” post… and to be honest, I’ve been too scared to post any boudoir/nudes since. It’s not that I’m afraid that I will be reprimanded or that I’ll anger a grumpy old relative of a client, I’ve actually been more worried about the fact that a lot of my blog followers are opening my site at work, and might be horribly embarrassed when, surprise!–there is a naked women up on their screen–maybe for others to see as well. And if that’s the case, then my apologies to you (and your co-workers!) for any awkward moments. However, I’m over it–I can’t please everybody. This is my blog. My work. Done and Done. Nothing else to say here. But really, folks—there’s nothing here that should be “hidden.” At least I don’t think so. Enjoy!

Are you kidding me?! I’m pinching myself right now to wake up—this is my life?? I get to photograph edgy, industrial nudes and get paid for it?! Celeste is my ideal client. She didn’t want cheesy “come hither” boudoir photographs, but preferred a more natural, voyeuristic and edgy approach to her nudes. These were made as a gift for her husband for their upcoming anniversary, and I’m sure her husband, being a film maker and artist himself is going to love these!
Thank you so much, Celeste for letting me be creative with these and of course for braving the cold, and for putting yourself out there–naked in Denver! I love these images and loved the experience. xoxo

You don’t have to be getting married, or graduating, or even have somebody “special” in your life to have some portraits made of yourself…  Stefanie just decided it was time to celebrate her!   And because none of us are getting any younger, she thought this, the perfect time!  I think we should all have our portraits taken more often–not only for documentation purposes, but for the simple fact that it’s empowering.  I finally had some boudoir taken of myself last December and I can’t tell you how freeing it was!  I felt like a super woman–beautiful and worthy of being in a photograph.  I rarely feel like that—but the shoot was about me, and me only.  I only hope Stefanie felt the same after her session—feminine, beautiful and empowered.

Fabulous photos Julie. Perhaps you should do a series of self portraits. How wonderful to see you following your art and what a beautiful thing you do for people. Thanks Jodi
