Photography Blog | The Life and Times of Julie Harris Photo Blog | Photography Blogs. Welcome! This is where I show my work and write about what stirs me. Mary Ellen Mark says, "Reality is always extraordinary". I live by this. I'm a documentary photographer with a thirst for love, life and truth... a true bohemian at heart. In an industry saturated with trendy processing techniques and emphasis on style instead of substance, I strive to make honest images that are full of emotion and reality. Meet sweet baby, Shelby. I have had the opportunity to work with the Mitchell’s throughout Shelby’s life, starting with Nicole’s maternity session last summer. Now this precious baby girl is 6 months old and I’m loving watching her grow! She is almost exactly 3 months older than my Ramona, so I get to see what fun I have to look forward to. Looks like I’ll see more smiles and laughing, some sitting, and an overall more alert baby. Shelby’s little personality shines–I’m learning that babies are truly, complete little humans. And this little bean is yummy all around. I can’t wait to visit and photographer her again at 9 months. Stay tuned…
It’s that time of year again and I’m back to work, full throttle with weddings. Chetana and Shoban’s wedding was officially my first wedding of the season and I couldn’t think of a better way to kick it off. This wedding was “street photography” meets Hindu tradition. Chetana and Shoban were amazing to work with. A fun, spunky couple with impeccable taste, they opted for few formals and mostly documentary style photography with some street portraits thrown in. We were a perfect match. And I don’t even have to mention the color and opulence surrounding this event. It was yummy all around. If the rest of my weddings and couples are this fantastic, it’s going to be a great season…
Oh my goodness, so much fun!!! Three families got together and put a party on for their 1 year-old boys, Jones, Silas and Sadler. And it was a RIOT! I had such a great time photographing this event in a documentary style. The babes all had such strong personalities and it cracked me up that they technically had no idea what was going on. A first birthday party is so much more for the parents than it is for the little guys, but it’s certainly a celebration to be had, none the less. Enjoy glimpses of these guys quirky little personalities….and of course their reactions to their first cupcake.
