Photo Blog by Julie Harris
I love my husband, Paris, hot black coffee, baths, popcorn and junior mints, sunday afternoons when I’m not working, long walks on a cloudy day, rain, fog, snow, Christmas time, the spa, sweatpants, HBO, airports, airport bars, bloody Mary’s, old chairs, Totinos frozen party pizzas, the color blue, Joni Mitchell, Counting Crows, Radiohead, the subway, the perfect fitting jeans, diptique candles, my old 1970 maverick, my Dad’s farm, the smell of my Grandmas house, junk cereal, afternoon naps, laying in the grass, planting tulips, Target, a good book, the time to read a good book, the beach, the smell of baby coppertone sunscreen, down pillows, , arrowhead hunting with my Dad, hotdogs and beer, sleeping in, a long swim, using other people’s toiletries, expensive wine glasses, expensive wine, wine in the box, getting lost when I have all the time in the world, road trips with my friend Marie and Tracy, anything by Baz Luhrmann, slippers, school supplies (i still buy them every year even though i’m not in school), the E nglish country side in the winter, dangly earrings... |

Mandy and Dan at Piney River Ranch
November 20, 2009
•Weddings
Mandy and Dan were married in September at Piney River Ranch outside of Vail. And it was PERFECT in every way! Mandy is an amazing lady—she pretty much put this entire wedding together herself. When I say, entire wedding I mean everything from the flowers and centerpieces to the invitations to the jewelry and the place cards. I was blown away by her creativity and patience! On top of this, Mandy even remembered that I love scotch and brought me a very, very nice bottle on her own wedding day! Mandy and Dan are just like that—totally gracious, kind and generous. I love these two and hope that we can continue a relationship. Unfortunately, just a month after the wedding, Dan had to move out of state to work indefinitely. Not much of a honeymoon for the two of them… But I’m hoping that they can spend the holidays together here. Much love, Mandy and Dan—let’s go to Root down again next time you are visiting. And Mandy, darlin—the invitation is always open for cocktails!
Look at this stunning view—majestic!
Dan’s father officiated the ceremony. I love the passionate look on his face during this prayer.
I think the groomsman in the background needs a cocktail!
Mandy’s father barely held it together during the father-daughter dance…
Then lost it!

Of all the photographer’s blogs I follow, yours is one of the only ones that brings tears to my eyes. You capture the emotion in people like no other!
-I love ya Julie…amazing as usual! And I’m always down for cocktails!
-beautiful wedding. I love the picture #6, the one with the mountain as the background. Also the last picture, great moment.
-Julie,
I have been following your blog for awhile, and although I wouldn’t even call myself an amateur photographer, I can say that I have an eye for it, and it seems that your eye produces what my eye would like to. I absolutely love your photos and, as you hear from so many, want to let you know that I think you have an incredible gift. I live quite a small life, but a very rich life. I live in Estes Park, and am extremely happily married with a seven month old daughter and a dog that weighs more than I do. I stay home with little Zoe and waitress at a little mexcian/american restaurant on the side. I feel like if you and I hung out we would “get” each other. Your photos show that. The fact that you went to Paris and could only take film photos and that weighed you down, but at the same time was exciting to you…I completely appreciate that…the exhileration of going back to the dark room, although it was certainly a weight and a hindrance to your trip. I don’t use the internet often, but by chance, I came upon your blog and kept coming back…and, I love your photos, and if by any chance you are ever in Estes, or you ever feel like you want a follower in Boulder,or even someone to help you with some of the mundane carrying of equipment…I would be greatly interested in learning something from you. I’m not a weirdo or anything, in fact, you’d probably find me relatively down to earth…but I do love your work, and if you ever want or need someone to follow you for a day, I would love it.
-Beautiful, babe! Mandy looks beautiful too. Excellent as usual, my dear.
-sooooo, if I somehow convince my hubby to renew our vows on our 10th anniversary in 3 years…will you come photograph it? LoL. I think the picture of the grooms dad officiating just got me
Love it!
-These images are incredible. What a gorgeous place to get married. Number 6 and 12 are my favorite images. Keep up the amazing work.
-I just love following your blog Julie! You do such an amazing job for your wedding clients. I have to admit…I’m a little envious of the beautiful scenery you have to work with; what a breathtaking backdrop for a wedding ceremony. Great Work!
