I am moving my studio….. once again! But not because the place on Steele wasn’t absolutely fabulous—I’m sad to leave it actually, but I found a smaller space less than a minute from my house, so I had to take it. However I am subletting the warehouse space so if any of you are interested, you should seriously check it out. Here is the add on Craig’s list…. and a few photos. (By the way, Josh is a partner of www.photographik.org whom I was sharing the space with—he’s great! He’ll show you the space and want to have a beer with you! Unfortunately for all of you, he will be going with me, so you’ll have the space to yourself).

Looking to either sublet our space until September or start a new
 agreement
for 1 year. Amazing office space with several amenities including:

1300 sq. ft.
concrete floors
super high warehouse ceilings
tons of parking
great atmosphere
shared conference room included (room for private conference room in
 space
as well)
ability to host events
several networking opportunities with other tenants

Are you a good fit?
We are looking for a unique tenant. Must be relatable to the
 following...
Marketing
Design
Web
Publication
Advertising
Photography
Videography
... you get the idea

Available now or Jan 1.

Every photographer has a horror story or two—some which we may laugh about later, some which we wish to never think about again. But I may have one that tops them all—and is seriously one of the funniest things that has yet to happen to me on a shoot.

And the story goes… Laura was planning on doing a tasteful boudoir session for her boyfriend, Steve. We had met a few weeks back to discuss exactly what she had in mind and set the date to do the shoot at her place. Long story short, we were nearing the end of the shoot (Laura perched on the bed on all fours in black lace), when I heard the front door open… It was Steve!!! And the horror of the story, is that when he walked in all he could hear was two women’s panicked voices, and all he could see was Laura in her pose on the bed in lingerie. Mind you, there was also a bottle of wine out on the counter in the kitchen (I always bring a bottle of wine when shooting a boudoir to take the edge off ), and there were multiple pieces of lingerie strewn across the floor of the apartment. Steve was naturally horrified, thinking that his girlfriend was either having some lesbian affair, or that she had some secret life as a porn star. Anyhow, the suprise was no more. Laura chased after him and explained everything to him as I quickly gathered my equipment and scurried out. What is so strange about the whole thing, is that I actually felt like I was doing something wrong—simply because it looked so scandalous! Hee hee! Oh my gosh, I’m still laughing as I write this!!! Oh well. Steve will have to settle for getting an early Christmas present because we showed him some of the shots on the back of my camera just so he knew I was a legit photographer. He was still completely in shock and unable to laugh about the situation when I left, but I’m hoping that when he recieves the beautiful images of Laura, he’ll not only treasure them, but he will be able to laugh about the whole thing!

Very funny story! I was in a similar situation myself while shooting a client once, except it turned out to be her teenage daughter that walked in accidentally....awkward! I found your blog thru photographik... Great blog. :) -Ruby

Some of you already know this, but I have to brag one more time before the end of this month, in case any of you want to grab a copy. I have a wedding featured in Denver’s lifestyle magazine 5280 ! This is seriously exciting because I’ve never technically been published before…. Stay tuned though, because I will also have a wedding featured in the Knot, which will come out next Spring.   Yay!!
